Linda Ronstadt

£30.00

Not a Scream Queen of course, but I couldn’t think of anywhere else to stick her! This portrait is a bit of a diversion from my usual stuff but I’ve been on a bit of a nostalgia kick of late. Originally this was supposed to be painting of The Monkees, a 60’s band I really liked because they were the only bunch of musicians who played worse than me. While I was Googling away for images though, up pops this real grainy, low res pic of Linda Ronstadt, a chick I had a big thing for back in 1967. OK, my thing wasn’t that big back then (it’s even smaller now!) but she certainly knocked my 15 year old socks off and I bought Different Drum (written by Monkee Mike Nesmith) just to leer at her on the cover.

Now, 52 years later I’ve finally got around to painting this truly beautiful woman and I think the 8 hours I spent on Linda (7 hours and 59 minutes more than I’d have lasted with the real thing!) was definitely time well spent. As for you horror fans, don’t worry; I’ve got a real tasty Norman Bates coming up next!
